Constructed c. 1927 in an eclectic style combining Italianate with Arts & Crafts style detailing, it originally had a open gallery of archways along the two street facades.  The building had been neglected for many years. 

The restoration included all guest rooms and public spaces, an enlarged Lobby, including a fitness center and business center.  The project also included the interior design and custom design of all guestroom furniture.

The project was designed in conformance with National Park Service Guidelines earning Historic Tax Credits and received approval of the New Orleans Historic District Landmark Commission.
